We're looking for a Building Assistant who supports the smooth and safe operation of the office environment by assisting with facilities coordination, room set-ups, security checks, contractor access, and compliance logging.
Role Responsibilities- Conduct routine visual checks of office areas and report building issues to the Facilities Manager or contractors, ensuring all spaces remain presentable and functional.
- Support meeting room set-ups, office moves, furniture rearrangement, and workspace reconfiguration, along with assisting staff, visitors, and internal events.
- Carry out health and safety duties including weekly fire alarm testing, ensuring escape routes are clear, placing safety signage, and reporting hazards.
- Assist with security and access management including unlocking/locking procedures, visitor access control, and escorting contractors in secure areas.
- Manage logistics and compliance support including deliveries, stock monitoring, updating logbooks, meter readings, and supporting maintenance activities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work proactively and independently.
- Awareness of health and safety principles (Fire Warden or First Aid training desirable).
- Experience in facilities, building operations, or office support roles is desirable.
- Good customer service skills with a professional and courteous approach.
- Physically capable of moving and setting up furniture and equipment.
