Oliver Smith Recruitment are working in partnership with our key client in Bishopbriggs to hire a Finance Assistant on a permanent basis.

This role is to support and work with the Financial Accounting Manager in ensuring that key deliverables are achieved. Namely, the timely completion of month-end and year-end procedures and assisting with maintaining accurate financial records throughout the year.

Main duties:

• Posting of daily cashbooks.
• Preparing and posting month-end journals including accruals and prepayments, FX, recharges and any other adjustment journals.
• Maintaining the fixed assets register and depreciation schedule.
• Reviewing and posting weekly/monthly payroll journals.
• Maintaining schedules and analyses of specific accounts.
• Involvement in the preparation of reports and analyses used for VAT and other tax returns.
• Assisting the Finance team with their month-end review and helping to investigate and resolve any queries with the accounts.
• Preparing and distributing specific internal reports to managers and the wider Finance team.
• Performing month-end and quarter-end balance sheet reconciliations for all relevant accounts and providing detailed explanations for any variances.
• Assisting in the year-end statutory audit as required.
• Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance team on project work and other deliverables.
