Job Title: Retail Manager

Department: Retail

Location: Bishopbriggs

Reports To: Director of Retail

Why is This Role Right for You?

If you’re an experienced retail leader ready to take full ownership of a store, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Our Bishopbriggs location is entering an exciting new phase, and we’re looking for a confident, motivated Retail Manager to lead the team through that transition and beyond.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the business. You’ll have the autonomy to shape performance, develop your team, and deliver exceptional customer service every day. You won’t just be managing a store, you’ll be trusted to run it, improve it and grow it.

You’ll be supported by an established retail business that values quality, professionalism and doing things the right way, while still giving you the freedom to manage your store with confidence and creativity.

About Stewart Travel

Stewart Travel is the retail arm of Brooklyn Travel Group, one of the most respected independent travel businesses across Scotland and Northern Ireland. With 11 retail locations and a strong reputation for service excellence, we pride ourselves on delivering a consistently high‑quality customer experience.

As an independent retailer, we focus on building long‑term relationships, empowering our teams, and creating welcoming, professional stores where customers enjoy doing business. Customer service sits at the centre of everything we do.

The Role

As Retail Manager of our Bishopbriggs store, you’ll be fully responsible for the day‑to‑day running and performance of the branch. You’ll lead, motivate and develop your team, ensuring standards remain high while driving sales and operational efficiency.

You’ll play a key role in leading the team, helping to embed strong processes, set expectations and create a positive, high‑performing culture. This is a hands‑on leadership role that suits someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in seeing both people and results grow.

What You’ll be Doing

No two days will be the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full ownership of store performance, including sales targets and KPIs
  • Leading the team on exceptional customer service standards across all channels
  • Managing staffing levels, rotas, holidays and absence
  • Coaching, motivating and developing colleagues to reach their full potential
  • · Recruiting, onboarding and training new team members
  • Monitoring individual and team performance and addressing issues proactively
  • Managing customer complaints professionally and resolving issue efficiently
  • Ensuring company policies, procedures and compliance standards are followed
  • Driving sales through effective upselling and promotional activity
  • Analysing performance data and implementing improvements where needed
  • Working closely with senior management on strategy, forecasting and growth
  • Creating a positive, supportive and results‑driven working environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Retail Travel Management role
  • A strong background in achieving sales targets in a retail environment
  • Confident leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Calm, professional decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment
  • A genuine passion for customer service and team development
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to wider business goals
  • Flexible and adaptable, especially during periods of change or growth

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you. Join us as we enter an exciting new chapter for our Bishopbriggs store and take the lead in shaping its future.
