Main duties of the job
- Undertaking a variety of secretarial and administrative duties, including typing referral letters and processing referrals via the NHS e-Referral Service.
- Processing applications for private medical reports, insurance claims and other private work, including requests for access to patient records.
- Summarising and read coding relevant information from patient clinical records and hospital correspondence.
- Dealing with telephone queries from patients, hospitals and external agencies.
- Liaising with secondary care providers and other healthcare organisations.
- Filing and general administrative duties.
- Providing reception support when required.
- Previous experience working as a Medical Secretary and Reception Support.
- NHS experience.
- Experience using the Systm One clinical system.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to covering additional hours, annual leave and sickness absence when required.
- Monday: 8:00am – 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:00am – 6:30pm
- Thursday: 8:00am – 6:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 6:30pm
- £12.71 per hour
- 5.6 weeks annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
Pension:

- Candidate must be able to work cohesively as part of a team and be capable of working in a fast paced and at times stressful environment. Positivity and a robust nature are a must! You will be required to cover additional hours re staff holidays and sickness sometimes at short notice, which may include a later finish. The ideal candidate must be confident, a quick learner, possess excellent communication and organisational skills, have a polite telephone manner along with the ability to deal with sensitive / confidential issues appropriately whilst remaining calm under pressure.

- Previous experience working in a GP practice
- Able to handle a fast paced environment
- Systm One Experience
- Access to an NHS Smartcard
