Junior Designer

Want to build your CAD skills while getting involved in real commercial design and fit-out projects? Our client is growing its project delivery business and is looking for a Junior CAD Technician who enjoys design, has an eye for detail and wants to contribute ideas rather than simply follow a brief.

• Work across exciting commercial office design and fit-out projects, from initial space planning through to delivery.
• Gain experience across both a growing projects business and an established serviced-office portfolio.
• Receive hands-on mentoring from the Head of Projects & Technical Services, with opportunities to develop your technical and design skills.

• Produce accurate 2D drawings, space plans and test fits for commercial office spaces.
• Create furniture layouts, fit-out plans and 3D visuals for client proposals.
• Visit buildings to carry out measured surveys and check existing plans.
• Support layouts for lighting, power, data and other building services.
• Keep drawings and project files organised and up to date.
• Bring your own ideas to briefs, suggesting alternative layouts and creative ways to make spaces work better.

• Confident using AutoCAD
  , ideally AutoCAD Architecture.
• A good eye for detail, spatial awareness and accurate drawing work.
• Organised, personable and keen to learn in a collaborative team.
• Sketch Up experience would be a bonus, but isn't essential.

• A starting salary of £32,000, with a potential car allowance and mileage for work-related travel.
• Mentoring, live projects from day one and exposure to the wider design-and-build process.
• A friendly, sociable team with scope to grow into a more established CAD or design role.
• Some flexibility to work from other regional offices, depending on location and project needs.
