Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary to permanent from ASAP

This Teaching Assistant role is based within a primary setting where pupils benefit from a calm, respectful atmosphere and positive relationships with staff. Teaching is well organised and inclusive, helping pupils feel supported and confident in their learning. Leaders provide clear direction and foster a strong sense of teamwork, ensuring staff are well supported and pupils’ personal development is a clear priority.

Duties

as Teaching Assistant:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured learning activities
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and improve progress
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, adapting activities where required
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and maintaining an organised environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in lessons
  • Supervise pupils during lessons and other school activities as required
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school policies at all times
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Has experience supporting children in a primary school setting
  • Demonstrates a caring, patient, and proactive approach
  • Works effectively as part of a team and follows teacher guidance
  • Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with pupils
  • Is committed to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
