Senior Learning Practitioner - (16 - 19 provision)

Location: St Elizabeth's School, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire

Contract: Term-time only (Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year)

Salary: £24,202 per annum (pro rata salary)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Learning Practitioners to join our thriving 16-25 provision. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to helping young people develop meaningful life skills, independence, confidence and aspirations for adulthood.

About the Role

Working closely with Teachers and a multidisciplinary team, you will take responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities and support learners to achieve their individual goals. You will play a key role in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment whilst helping to develop independence and self-confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and supporting learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Supporting lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting on learner progress.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of individual learning, behaviour and personal care plans.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and learner engagement.
  • Working collaboratively with education, therapy, medical and care teams to ensure excellent outcomes.
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues as required.
  • Supporting learners during community activities, educational visits and enrichment opportunities.
About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, epilepsy and learning disabilities.
  • Is confident delivering learning activities and supporting classroom management.
  • Has excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
  • Is committed to promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Has a positive, proactive and compassionate approach.

A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) and additional training such as Makaton would be advantageous.
