Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday 7:30am-11:30am

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a well-established engineering and aerospace manufacturing business.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering position responsible for leading the Engineering department and overseeing manufacturing planning, engineering methods, technical documentation and production support. You will act as a key technical link between Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement, Commercial, CAD and customers, ensuring manufacturing requirements are correctly understood and translated into practical and efficient processes.

The Role

As Engineering Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the Engineering function, prioritising workloads and providing technical guidance to engineering personnel, Production Supervisors and Operators.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supervising and coordinating engineering activities
  • Managing engineering workload and ensuring deadlines are achieved
  • Interpreting customer CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Developing appropriate manufacturing methods and sequences of operation
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing instructions, planning sheets and routings
  • Producing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Identifying tooling, equipment, material and process requirements
  • Providing technical support to Production
  • Investigating and resolving manufacturing and engineering issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement and New Product Introduction activities
  • Acting as the primary engineering contact for customer technical and manufacturing queries
  • Carrying out contract reviews for new and repeat orders
  • Ensuring engineering processes meet quality, regulatory and Health & Safety requirements

You will also be responsible for manufacturing planning within the company's Kinetic MRP/ERP system, including creating jobs, entering set and run times, producing job travellers and ensuring engineering information is accurate before work is released into Production.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful Engineering Supervisor should have:

  • Strong CNC machining experience, including CNC milling across 3, 4 and 5-axis machines and CNC turning
  • Previous experience within an aerospace or similarly high-standard engineering environment
  • Good knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with Titanium, Aluminium and Steel
  • Previous milling and/or fabrication experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience of manufacturing planning, BOMs, routings and production documentation
  • Previous estimating and costing experience would be advantageous
  • Experience working with suppliers and procurement
  • Strong organisational and deadline-management skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different departments
  • A quality-focused, self-motivated and enthusiastic approach

Experience with in an aerospace manufacturing environment would be particularly beneficial, as the Engineering function operates in accordance with applicable customer, quality and regulatory requirements, including CAA Part 21G requirements.
