Leasehold / Independent Living Officer - Essex - £22.68 LTD p/h - Temp to Perm
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Leasehold / Housing Officer to join a leading housing provider within their Independent Living (Retirement) service. This is a temp to perm opportunity, offering a stable long-term role supporting leaseholders aged 55+ across two schemes in Essex.
Location & HoursBased at Sawbridgeworth Office (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Ongar Scheme (Tuesday & Thursday - travel from Sawbridgeworth office)
25 hours per week - 8:00am - 1:00pm, Monday to Friday
£22.68 LTD per hour
Minimum 3 months temporary with strong potential to go permanent
- Enhanced DBS required
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential
- Mileage paid between sites only (not from home)

You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality housing and leasehold management service to residents within Independent Living retirement schemes (55+). The role focuses on leasehold management, service charge support, and resident liaison, ensuring older leaseholders receive a responsive and professional service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of retirement leasehold properties across two locations
- Act as the main point of contact for residents, responding to queries and concerns
- Provide guidance and support on service charges, estimated costs, and year-end accounts
- Handle leasehold enquiries and resolve issues efficiently
- Support the delivery of high-quality housing management within Independent Living schemes
- Conduct site visits and maintain a visible presence for residents
- Work with internal teams to resolve maintenance, service, and management issues
- Build positive relationships with older residents and manage challenging situations professionally
- Experience in Leasehold Management (preferred)
- OR an experienced Housing Officer with strong leasehold knowledge
- Understanding of service charges, estimated budgets, and year-end accounts
- Experience working with older residents / retirement housing (desirable)
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills
- Able to manage a varied workload across multiple sites
