Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (7:00am - 7:00pm)

Salary: £47,000 - £50,000 per annum

Overtime:
Flat rate OT available

We are looking for a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing site within the food industry. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining, fault‑finding, and improving automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and performance.

You’ll be working on a modern, highly automated site with strong investment in machinery, controls, and continuous improvement.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated production machinery
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on manufacturing equipment
• Diagnose and rectify faults on PLC‑controlled systems (fault finding only)
• Work with sensors, drives, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Support continuous improvement and reliability improvements
• Ensure all work is completed in line with food safety, hygiene, and H&S standards
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning
• Accurately complete maintenance records and reports

• Multi-skilled background (electrical bias preferred)
• Experience with in a manufacturing environment (food or FMCG highly desirable)
• Strong fault‑finding ability on automated machinery
• PLC fault finding experience essential
• Knowledge of sensors, relays, inverters, motors, and control panels
• Understanding of planned maintenance systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a shift team

• NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Relevant electrical qualifications (17th/18th Edition beneficial but not essential)
