Salary: £40,000 £ 50,000

Location: Bishop's Stortford

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI Engineer to join an innovative and technology-focused manufacturer. Operating within a specialist manufacturing environment, the business develops and produces complex electro‑mechanical products for demanding applications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a production‑focused role and wants to make a tangible impact. You will play a key role in supporting new product introduction, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring a seamless transition from design through to full‑scale manufacture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transition of new products from development into full production
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing methods, routings and process documentation
  • Design and implement production tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • Drive productivity, quality and process improvement initiatives
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities within agreed budgets
  • Support production in resolving output and quality issues
  • Act as the manufacturing authority for product assembly sequences and techniques
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, finance and operations to ensure manufacturability and accurate cost structures
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability, Lean Manufacturing principles and Quality Systems
  • Experience applying stress/strain principles, ideally within pressure‑related systems
  • Knowledge of electro‑mechanical assembly
  • Hands‑on capability with manufacturing, calibration and validation processes
  • 3D CAD experience for tooling and fixture design
  • Experience working with a major ERP system
  • Comfortable operating both on the shop floor and in office‑based environments
