Electrical Wiring Technician

Bishop's Stortford

Our client has been established for more than half a century and specialises in the design, manufacture and global supply of bespoke and innovative cleaning solutions to a range of sectors including biotech and pharmaceutical. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Electrical Wiring Technician to complement their professional electrical engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture control panels, drill and fit control equipment to technical drawings.
  • Wire control panels based on supplied wiring schematics.
  • Bench test control panels.
  • Wire skid-mounted equipment including valves, pumps, heaters and instrumentation (3-ph and 1-ph).
  • Fit skid-mounted pneumatic equipment.
  • Terminate cabling and pneumatics in control panels.
  • Perform PAT testing within the workplace.
  • Conduct electrical stocktake, report low stock and ensure replenishment before running out.
  • Re‑assemble systems on site.
Qualifications
  • Electrical qualification – C & G 236 or Level 3 NVQ with AM2 and 18th edition wiring certificate.
  • Basic experience in controls and electrical wiring with literacy of electrical drawings.
  • Basic panel wiring knowledge and workshop technical skills (power tools, hand tools, engineering hygiene).
  • Comfortable working on skids and good time‑keeping and organisational skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Advanced panel wiring knowledge, fault‑finding, modification and debugging on PLCs and HMIs.
  • Understanding of P&AID's and General Arrangement drawings.
  • Understanding of basic circuits, fault‑finding, testing and commissioning of skid wiring and electrical panels.
