This position provides clerical and customer service support for the operations of the municipal court.

This position provides clerical and customer service support for the operations of the municipal court.
Examples of Duties
- Enters complaints and issues summonses; attaches required reports to cases; processes pleas and schedules trial dates; enter dispositions; finalizes cases following court appearances; prepares payment schedules; forwards cases to District Court for jury trials.
- Answers telephones and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
- Processes payments.
- Issues suspension notices and court summonses for non-payment; issues tow warrants.
- Sets trial dates; issues warrants; enters dismissals.
- Checks people in for court; assists defendants with paperwork.
- Reviews sentences with defendants; sets up payment plans; processes payments.
- Prepares a variety of regular and special reports.
- Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Knowledge of Municipal Court policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Skill in the use of modern office equipment.
- Skill in the provision of customer services.
- Skill in problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- Skill in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
