We’re seeking a caring, responsible, and empathetic Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) who will be involved in assisting with patient care for all ages in an ambulatory setting. The Medical Assistant will be an advocate for the patient’s needs by collaborating with both the patient and their care team to ensure that the patient is comfortable throughout their healthcare journey a Medical Assistant, you can look forward to creating strong bonds with your patients and co-workers and have multiple opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities- Collects subjective and objective health status data from the patient or caregiver and communicates data to the healthcare provider
- Follows through on the patient’s plan of care under the direction of the provider
- Communicates the provider’s written instructions for care to the patient or caregiver
- Participates in care for patients, across the lifespan, in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of care settings
- Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports patient’s signs or symptoms, and performs point of care testing
- Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
- Certification (CMA) obtained through nationally approved programs (e.g., AAMA, CCMA, CMAC, NCMA). Registration (RMA) through AMT also acceptable.
- Additional state requirements include North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing. If not held at time of hire, registration must be obtained within 4 months, and medication administration must be supervised by a licensed nurse until MAIII registration is obtained. Must also be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry if MAIII not held at time of hire.
MAs in Minnesota (MN), Iowa (IA), South Dakota (SD), and Oregon (OR) do not require state registration. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment and re-certified as required.
