Trauma Injury Prevention Specialist

Responsibilities

CHI St. Alexis is looking for a Full Time Trauma Injury Prevention Specialist.

Works under the general direction of the Emergency and Trauma Services Director and the supervision of the Trauma Nurse Coordinator in planning and coordinating activities for the Trauma Program and facilitates Injury Prevention activities of the organization. Provides and performs secretarial services associated with the overall operation of the Trauma program in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of CHI St.

• CHI St. Alexius Health mission, vision, and values to foster a compassionate, healing environment providing physiological, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and visitors.
• Coordinates Trauma related injury prevention activities and maintains accurate and ongoing records of program activities for the organization.
• Coordinates meeting times, locations, and agendas for all Trauma related activities.
• Attends all trauma related meetings and distributes associated meeting minutes, memorandums or other communication in a timely manner.
• Assists in planning, coordinating, conducting, and evaluating trauma related education and prevention programs for organizational staff and community members based on documented needs.
• Participates in Trauma chart abstraction duties, assists in data collection, data input, and data retrieval in the Trauma registry.
• Completes Trauma registry education as directed by the American College of Surgeons for Level 2 trauma centers.
• Performs clerical duties for ATLS and TNCC educational programs.
• Maintains and assists in updating all Trauma department policies and procedures.
• Effectively collaborates with other departments and disciplines as related to the Trauma program and injury prevention activities.

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge of medical terminology, strong oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills required.
