Environmental Service Technician – Bismarck Medical Center (Evening Shift)

Sanford Health looks for a dedicated Environmental Service Technician to maintain a safe and sanitary environment at Bismarck Medical Center. The role requires 8‑hour evening shifts (8 p.m.–4 a.m.) with full‑time hours and a salary of $15.00–$23.00 per hour, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus.

The Environmental Services Technician cleans patient and resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators, lockers, and other work areas to meet health standards. Duties include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, maintaining supplies, using housekeeping equipment, and supporting laundry and other tasks as needed.

• Empty waste baskets and mop and scrub floors.
• Wax, polish and maintain floors in patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators, stairways and lockers.
• Use brooms, mops and powered cleaning machines.
• Wear protective equipment and follow safety and infection‑control guidelines.
• Keep supplies, carts and equipment clean and stocked.
• Respond to paging requests and use technology appropriately.
• Assist with laundry tasks when required.
• Adhere to shift schedules, including overtime, calls, nights, days, weekends and holidays.
• Move or lift up to 40–50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, stooping, twisting and squatting.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Ability to use computers and common cleaning chemicals.
• Strong customer‑service, communication and interpersonal skills.
