Overview:
We seek a qualified Physician Assistant to support the pathology department at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, North Dakota. As part of a specialized team, you'll perform gross examinations of biopsies and complex specimens, including frozen sections, with the opportunity to make a tangible impact in diagnostic accuracy. This position provides an excellent chance to utilize your skills in a supportive setting, ensuring high-quality pathology services while working in a collaborative hospital environment.
Required Skills:
- Certified Physician Assistant in good standing
- Ability to perform frozen section cases and complex surgical resections
- Proficiency in gross examination of biopsies and complex specimens
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic and Soft Path
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedural protocols
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Experience with medical renal and muscle biopsies
- Familiarity with histology techniques and staining procedures
- Previous experience working in a hospital pathology lab
- Physician Assistant certification with current licensure
- Prior experience in surgical pathology or hospital laboratory settings
- Demonstrated competency in frozen section procedures and complex specimen processing
- Ability to work from February through April 2025
- No credentialing required; emergency credentialing not necessary
- Travel and lodging arrangements as per candidate preference
- Compensation includes rates for orientation, holiday work, and callback shifts; hourly pay rate is available upon application
