Material Handler II Bismarck

Overview

Operates industrial truck equipment with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment and material in a warehouse, storage yard or factory. Supplies the lines with the materials needed to perform their job.

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, lifting platform or other lifting devices under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, product or materials and transports to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed.
• Maintains safety checks on lift truck to ensure it is in safe and proper working order.
• Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Supplies the lines with the materials needed to perform their job manually or with the use of power equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Diploma - High School Diploma/Equivalent (or equivalent).
• Must be able to read and receive instructions in English and follow established methods and procedures.
• Successful completion of a forklift safety class, written forklift operation test and an eye exam to check peripheral vision is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent.
• Job-specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training.
• Experience:
