Qualifications- Associate's Degree in banking, finance or administration is preferred.
- 1 year of banking experience is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft office an 10 key typing.
- Assist members with a wide range of transactions face to face inside the credit union, through the drive-thru, or over the phone.
- Balance a teller cash drawer, coin machine, and high emphasis on accuracy in completing transactions.
- Provide information to members in the lobby and by answering phone calls while directing callers to correct person/department when needed.
- Maintain a clean working environment, including the lobby area, kids’ play area, and the teller areas.
- Perform necessary cash handling tasks (i.e., cash shipments, check night drops for deposits)
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude towards RCU members and employees
- Extensive knowledge of all products and services to effectively promote them to the membership.
- Provide support to members and staff with web and online banking questions.
- Review deposits made through the mobile deposit system multiple times throughout the day and approve or deny the deposit based on the requirements set forth in the procedure.
- Assist with back-office and operational support tasks as requested , processing return checks and account maintenance.
- Open and close the RCU branch offices, paying specific attention to the alarm and security systems.
- Serve on various committees as assigned.
- Actively participate in all RCU promotions and community events to increase business opportunities from existing and potential members.
- Complete BAI training courses to grow knowledge of credit unions and your job responsibilities.
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand while using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee regularly is required to walk, talk, carry, hear, and reach with hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, stand, crouch, stoop, kneel or crawl.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with various shifts from 7:30am and 5:30pm. Availability is needed from 7am to 6pm to attend meetings and effectively complete office closing tasks. Shifts will be performed from our Bismarck Branch, but may also be from our Mandan location on occasion for scheduling needs. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
TravelNo travel expected outside the Bismarck-Mandan area other than occasional employee development opportunities.
