Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We are the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it remains a public good and are contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to fund public goods.

We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend leaning) to join the Base team, focusing on backend onchain engineering to support and accelerate Base's success.

Responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining backend Golang systems that power Base
• Working with Kubernetes and cloud services to automate and maintain blockchain infrastructure
• Researching and prototyping innovative ideas to improve blockchain client efficiency and scalability

Ideal candidates will have:

• At least 5 years of experience in software or systems engineering
• Experience developing and deploying core backend features at large scale
• Knowledge of current infrastructure and systems design best practices
• Ability to write high-quality, tested, and maintainable code

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Golang, Geth, Foundry, Solidity, or other crypto tools
• Contributions to open source crypto projects like OP Stack or Base
• Experience with Kubernetes or cloud providers such as AWS or GCP

Pay Transparency: The annual salary range for this position is $186,065—$218,900 USD, depending on location. Full-time offers include bonus, equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
