Salary: $27.11/hour (Full-Time, Temporary, Nonexempt)

We are looking for a dedicated Temporary Equipment Operator II to perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. This includes operating heavy equipment, basic snow and ice control/removal, installing and repairing highway signs and guardrails, operating power tools, performing building and ground maintenance duties, and general routine maintenance of roadway and radio system equipment.

You will receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision, maintain necessary paperwork (including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc.), and complete minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment. You will keep roadways clear of hazards such as litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.

An important part of this position and the culture at the NDDOT is to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your coworkers, and others.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license with airbrakes and a cargo tank endorsement, and at least two years of relevant experience. The position requires reporting to work within 30 minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency events.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent upon satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check and federal clearinghouse query screening.
