Our client, a well‑established and highly regarded payroll bureau based in Blackburn, is looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their busy and collaborative team. The role is office‑based initially, with hybrid working available upon successful completion of probation.
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing end‑to‑end payroll processes for a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. You will work closely with clients and colleagues to ensure payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with current legislation.
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, four‑weekly and monthly payrolls
- Managing end‑to‑end payroll for multiple client accounts
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
- Processing new starters, leavers and employee changes
- Submitting RTI reports to HMRC
- Managing pension contributions and auto‑enrolment duties
- Resolving payroll queries from clients and employees
- Ensuring payroll records are maintained accurately and confidentially
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Supporting the wider team with payroll administration and client service activities
- Previous end‑to‑end payroll experience
- Experience working within a payroll bureau, accountancy practice, or managing multiple payrolls would be highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and client‑facing skills
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- A genuine desire to learn, develop, and progress within your payroll career
- Experience using payroll software packages
