We’re looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join Maintel on an initial 3-month FTC
, taking ownership of project accounting across our non-recurring contracts.
This one needs somebody who can hit the ground running
, so strong practical experience of IFRS 15, WIP and project/contract accounting is essential
.
You’ll join Maintel during an ongoing Finance transformation, with responsibility for project P&L, WIP, revenue recognition, deferred/accrued revenue and project profitability across our £93m AIM-listed telecoms group.
What you’ll be doing :- Owning project revenue, cost, P&L and WIP schedules
- Applying IFRS 15 percentage-of-completion principles
- Managing deferred and accrued revenue positions
- Completing project balance sheet reconciliations
- Producing project and portfolio reporting across revenue, margin, trends and variances
- Partnering with Project Managers to understand cost-to-complete and identify margin or delivery risks
- Working with Billing and Credit Control around contractual milestones
- Supporting forecasting, FP&A and wider project analysis
- Improving project accounting processes, controls and reporting
For this role, you’ll need to be part-qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ project accounting experience
.
Crucially, you’ll have hands-on experience of:
IFRS 15 revenue recognition | WIP | Percentage of Completion | Milestone Billing | Deferred/Accrued Revenue
Experience with in telecoms, technology, professional services or another project-led environment would be particularly relevant.
Given the short-term nature of the assignment, we’re particularly keen to speak to people who are immediately available or able to start at short notice and comfortable taking ownership from day one.
