Main duties of the job
You will need to have good IT skills, familiarity with EMIS web and excellent interpersonal skills for our public facing work. Your role will involve care navigating patients to the most appropriate service, booking appointments via telephone and online as well as ordering medications. They are main responsibilities for the role.
Hours of work:
Alternating weeks....
Covering extended hours on a Monday or Tuesday evening 4.30pm till 8.30pm
Job responsibilities- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
- Management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Action incoming faxes when necessary
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Read code data on EMIS WEB
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Manage workflow tasks on a daily basis
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
- Experience of working with the general public
- Experience of administrative duties
- AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
