We have an opportunity for a full-time Specialty Doctor to shape services at Cygnet Fountains in Blackburn

Cygnet Fountains is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level
2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act.

The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.

At Cygnet Fountains we have a number of different options to help support individuals to move on. We have 3 self-contained flats within the service to enable service users to build their individual skills before discharge while still having the full support of the multi-disciplinary team.

2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Your role responsibilities

• Provide high quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
• Assess referrals & un dertake mental state examinations of service users
• Participate in weekly ward rounds & attend multidisciplinary meetings
• Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals
• Provide up-to-date clinical information at all meetings
• Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
• Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines
• Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development
• Participate in the on call rota dependent on the needs of the region
