Position: SEN KS2 Teaching Assistant - Years 4 to 6

Location: Blackburn & Darwen
Start Date:
23rd February
Contract: Full‑time | Long‑term
Experience Needed: Minimum 1 year KS2 experience (SEN experience desirable)

Are you a patient, dedicated, and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs?
We are supporting a welcoming primary school in Blackburn & Darwen seeking a confident SEN KS2 TA to provide targeted support across Years 4–6.

  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group SEN support across Years 4, 5 and 6
  • Supporting pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning delays
  • Adapting lesson materials to suit individual learning styles
  • Delivering targeted interventions in reading, writing, maths and SPaG
  • Assisting Year 6 students with SATs preparation
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCO and class teachers to deliver support plans
  • 12+ months of KS2 experience
    , ideally in Years 4–6
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils (school‑based or personal)
  • Confident, calm and nurturing approach
  • Strong behaviour‑management skills
  • Able to build strong relationships with pupils
  • Proactive, reliable and committed to supporting pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
