Children’s Residential Support Worker (School-Based)

A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Blackburn is looking for a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join the team for the Summer Term, starting after May half term. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a lovely, supportive school environment helping children with complex and additional needs thrive during the school day.
The Role
You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning needs.
Your role will focus on providing consistent, compassionate support to help pupils feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting children with complex and additional needs throughout the school day
Providing emotional and behavioural support in class and during activities
Helping pupils develop positive routines, independence, and social skills
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs
Has a background in residential care, youth work, or school support (desirable)
Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
Can build positive relationships with children and staff
Is passionate about supporting children to achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
