Teaching Assistant – Blackburn

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Available
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and creating a positive learning environment.

Working alongside class teachers and support staff, you will provide classroom support, assist with pupil development, and help deliver engaging learning experiences for students across a range of abilities.

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
  • Assist students with additional learning needs, including SEND pupils where required.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and displays.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, flexible, and proactive approach.
