We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher to join our team at a secondary school in Preston. The position is full-time and will begin in September. As an English teacher, you will have a passion for literature, language, and teaching. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging and effective lessons to students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that are challenging, engaging, and meet the needs of all learners.
  • Set and mark assignments, assessments, and exams, and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support their learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues, sharing information about student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participating in extra-curricular activities and school events.
Requirements
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching English to students aged 11-16.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
