Position: SEN 1:1 T.A ADHD

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Full-Time

Primary School | 1:1 Support | SEN

The Role

You will work closely with the child, class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent support throughout the school day. You will help the child to engage positively with learning, develop confidence and independence, and manage the challenges they may experience in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities.
  • Support the child with focus, attention, organisation and transitions.
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child.
  • Use appropriate strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Adapt activities and learning approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
  • Encourage independence and celebrate the child's progress and achievements.
  • Maintain a calm, consistent and nurturing approach at all times.

  • Confident supporting children with additional needs.
  • Calm and consistent when managing challenging situations.
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with children.
  • A good communicator and team player.
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to helping children succeed.
  • Previous experience supporting children with ADHD or SEN is desirable, although applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
