Are you passionate about supporting children and young people who face social, emotional and behavioural challenges? Are you looking for a rewarding full-time role where you can make a genuine difference?
We are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work within specialist provisions across the Blackburn area. You will be supporting both primary and secondary-aged students, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour, overcome barriers to learning and engage positively in education.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
- Support primary and secondary-aged students within specialist provisions.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
- Help pupils develop strategies to regulate their emotions and manage their behaviour.
- Support students during challenging situations using appropriate behaviour management techniques.
- Encourage positive engagement, attendance and participation in learning.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual behaviour support plans.
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Support pupils to build confidence, resilience and independence.
- A calm, patient and resilient individual.
- Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, social or emotional needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting young people.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Enhanced Child DBS, or willingness to apply and pay for one.
- A minimum of 24 months of professional employment references.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Ability to travel across the Blackburn area.
- 110- 115 per day.
- Full-time, consistent work.
- Monday to Friday, 08:30am-3:30pm.
- Term-time only.

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
