Junior Electrical Estimator

Kickstart your estimating career with hands-on support and real progression. We’re working with a well-respected M&E contractor in Blackburn to find a Junior Electrical Estimator. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone with either early-stage estimating experience or a site-based electrical background looking to step into pre-construction.

Our client is a long-established building services contractor with a strong presence across the North-West. Known for their expertise in the utilities and industrial markets, they deliver high-quality M&E projects with a practical, no-nonsense approach. Internally, they offer a supportive environment where junior professionals are given time, structure, and exposure to develop – without the red tape.

• Supporting the production of electrical estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs
• Assisting in sourcing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Learning how to identify risks and value engineering opportunities
• Keeping track of cost breakdowns, amendments, and supporting documentation
• Collaborating with senior estimators and operational teams
• Attending pre-tender site visits where required

• Some prior experience in electrical estimating or a background as an electrician/site-based professional
• Understanding of electrical building services systems (e.g., lighting, containment, power)
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and able to interpret basic drawings
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communicator, both written and verbal
• Ambition to grow into a fully autonomous estimating role

• Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
