Position: Finance Assistant - 12 month FTC
  • Blackburn
  • Full-time | Permanent | In Office Role

Due to continued growth and maternity cover, an established business is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join its Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will support a broad range of accounting and finance activities and play an important part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

This position is ideal for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a desire to develop within a finance function. Previous experience in a finance or accounting environment is preferred, but attitude and aptitude are key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring an in-house sales invoicing system, including raising invoices, credit notes and amendments
  • Liaising with franchisees and responding to queries
  • Managing accounts payable across multiple entities
  • Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing supplier payment runs to agreed deadlines

    Posting bank receipts and payments (Sage 200)
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial information for the wider finance team
  • Handling telephone and email queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate client files, scanning and filing documentation
  • Learning and understanding FCA compliance requirements
  • Supporting the maintenance of policies, procedures and manuals
Skills & Experience
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
  • Previous finance or accounts experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literate with Microsoft Office;
    Sage 200 experience advantageous
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • A reliable team player with a flexible and enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: £29,000 per annum
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
  • Birthday off
