About The Wish Centre

The Wish Centre is a Lancashire-based charity supporting people to be free from domestic abuse. For over 35 years, we have delivered specialist, trauma-informed services including refuge accommodation, advocacy, counselling, behaviour change programmes, education and training.

We are values-led, ambitious and committed to strong governance, accountability and long-term sustainability so our services can continue to make a meaningful difference.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Head of Finance & Resources to provide strategic financial leadership and assurance across the organisation.

Working closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, you will lead on financial management, reporting, budgeting, compliance and risk, while supporting informed decision‑making and the effective delivery of our services. This is a senior, trusted advisory role with real influence.

This post is ideal for a qualified finance professional who wants to use their expertise to support a powerful social mission alongside professional excellence.

About You

You will be a CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent) with senior-level finance experience, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector. You are confident working with trustees and non-financial colleagues, able to translate complex financial information into clear insight, and committed to strong governance and ethical practice.

Most importantly, you share our vision of a world free from domestic abuse and demonstrate our values of Holistic, Educate, Respect and Empower (H.E.R.E) in how you work.

Why Work With Us?
  • A senior, strategic role with real impact
  • Flexible, part‑time working (18 hours per week)
  • Hybrid working model
  • A supportive, trauma-informed and values‑led culture
  • Employee Reward & Recognition Scheme
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to people’s lives
