Responsibilities- Collect and enter high volumes of payroll data supplied by clients into payroll software to meet deadlines.
- Adhere to all security and confidentiality policies.
- Maintain a high standard of processing efficiency while meeting tight deadlines.
- Assist in the processing and calculation of net pay for each employee on a client’s payroll, using payroll software or manually, applying HMRC rules and tables.
- Notify clients of amounts due to HMRC.
- Assist in the production of net pay details for transmission via BACS on the relevant dates.
- Assist in balancing payroll figures to produce month‑ and year‑end reports for each client.
- Assist with transmission to HMRC via RTI (Real Time Information), forms P45, P46, FPS and EPS returns.
- Ensure timeliness of downloads from HMRC and pension providers concerning tax codes, Student Loan notices and opt‑out dates.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Stay aware of changes in legislation affecting payroll processing and PAYE in general.
- Assist with auto‑enrolment processes for clients, creating reports and liaising with pension providers.
- Liaise with HMRC, DWP and other associated bodies.
- Track CIS deadlines and responsibilities.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the payroll bureau industry.
- Strong customer service orientation with accuracy and high professional standards.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both face‑to‑face and written.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proactive and self‑motivated.
