Job Title:Consultant in Adult Psychiatry
Grade:Consultant
Location:Blackburn, Lancashire
Working Hours:40 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to work full-time for our NHS client based in Blackburn, Lancashire. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start.

What will your responsibilities be?

This role involves working across general adult mental health services, including inpatient units and Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT). You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, leading on treatment planning, and providing clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team. The postholder will also participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and ensure documentation is maintained in line with NHS standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• GMC registration (essential)

• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status (essential)

• Inclusion on the Specialist Register with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry (essential)

• Experience in general adult psychiatry, including inpatient and CMHT settings

• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills

• A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
