The successful candidate will be expected to be able to independently run all routine lung function and sleep clinics independently, as well as providing support and training to all junior members of the team. This includes supervision of them undertaking professional qualifications.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, able to communicate with a range of disciplines, medical and nursing staff. Able to demonstrate good organisational skills able, to multitask and prioritise effectively.
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Physiologist with significant experience, with their ARTP part 1 and 2 qualification or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years post qualification in a lung function and sleep setting.
Within the respiratory physiology team we provide complex testing such as CPET and provision of non invasive ventilation (NIV) support and training will be given in this area but it is expected for the successful candidate to become part of the team delivering these services.
Essential Qualifications- BSc in Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science Respiratory and Sleep or equivalent
- ARTP/BTS Assessment (Parts I and II) or ARTP Practitioner Exam
- MSc Respiratory and Sleep Science
- HCPC/RCCP registered, or in process of registration
- Previous experience in working with patients
- Practical knowledge of respiratory disorders, and performance and interpretation of routine lung function tests
- Practical knowledge of sleep diagnostics
- Previous experience in the use of CPAP therapy
- Exposure to CPET testing
- Exposure to NIV (domiciliary and/or acute)
Skills and Abilities
- Performance and interpretation of basic lung function testing
- Performance and interpretation of multichannel sleep studies
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Supervision and teaching of junior members of staff in training
- Cross site working - willingness to be flexible
