Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team. Applications from experienced Band 5 therapists with acute paediatric experience will be considered as a 5 to 6 development post.
East Lancashire Hospitals Paediatric Physiotherapy Department are dedicated to enabling children and young people to fulfil their physical potential in every aspect of their lives. We provide both acute inpatient service to the paediatric medical wards and the Neonatal Unit, as well as community services managing a range of short and long term neurological, developmental, genetic orthopaedic, MSK and respiratory needs.
Responsibilities- Support Physiotherapy management of children and young people admitted to the child ward with respiratory, neurological or orthopaedic diagnoses.
- Hold a small outpatient caseload of patients with either neurological or MSK diagnoses.
- Deliver clinically excellent person‑centred care that promotes independence, recovery and well‑being for children and young people 0‑19 yrs, including those with SEND.
- Provide assessment, planning and delivery of care across a broad caseload and in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings – patient’s own home, education settings and more.
- Independently manage a varied caseload, organising effectively and efficiently regarding clinical priorities and use of time.
- Undertake all clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for organising and planning own caseload to meet service and patient priorities.
- Contribute to EHCP and Annual Review requirements in line with statutory timescales.
- Assess and recommend specialist equipment to support 24 hr postural management.
- Work as an active member of the multidisciplinary team within a dedicated service area and contribute to the planning and coordination of individual patient plans.
- Deputise for the Clinical Team Lead, taking responsibility for operational management of the team to meet clinical and service priorities.
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
