Commercial Account Handler

Overview

A well-established independent insurance broker on the outskirts of Blackburn is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Account Handler to support their Broker and wider client portfolio. This is a close-knit, sociable team where personality matters as much as technical ability. The role is predominantly office-based, with the possibility of alternative arrangements for the right candidate.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of up to £35,000 depending on background and experience.

• Managing incoming enquiries and arranging new policies
• Handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business administration
• Preparing reports, insurance documentation and client presentations
• Arranging renewal and new business meetings for the Broker
• Managing the claims process and keeping clients updated
• Maintaining accurate client records and data
• Negotiating with insurers to secure the best terms, coverage and pricing
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and insurers

• 2-3 years' experience in a commercial insurance account handling role
• Strong understanding of commercial products and insurer markets
• Acturis experience (highly advantageous)
• Confident communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage a busy workload with accuracy and professionalism
• Someone proactive, team-focused and keen to progress
• Ambition to gain professional qualifications
