Position: Solicitor - Defamation /  Harassment

About

the Role

We are seeking an experienced Defamation/Harassment Solicitor to join our growing team. You will advise and represent clients in harassment, stalking, defamation, libel, slander, privacy, and reputation management matters, often involving high-profile individuals and complex legal issues. The role will involve both claimant and defendant work.

Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on all aspects of harassment, stalking, defamation law, reputation management, and media disputes.
  • Managing cases from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.
  • Drafting pre-publication advice, letters of claim, defences, and other key legal documents.
  • Handling urgent injunction applications and crisis-management issues.
  • Liaising with clients, barristers, and other stakeholders.
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments in defamation, privacy, and related areas.
Qualifications
  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (2+ PQE preferred, but all levels considered).
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of harassment, defamation, libel, slander, and privacy law.
  • Experience handling reputation management and media-related disputes.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • A strong client-focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive matters discreetly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
