Maintenance Officer – Pilgrims' Friend Society

We are offering a Maintenance Officer position in our residential care home for older people in Preston. The Maintenance Officer plays a key role in the smooth running of the home. Outside contractors are used only when absolutely necessary, so you will need a good level of practical skill, including basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry, as well as general maintenance skills for looking after the home and grounds.
Maintenance Officers also look after health and safety records, conduct fire tests, and health & safety training for all staff.

Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality maintenance service
- Carry out general household maintenance
- Maintain and develop the grounds of the home to provide an attractive living space for residents
- Perform routine decoration work to a good standard
- Perform small-scale building tasks (fitting and adapting)
- Perform maintenance work to equipment and appliances
- Maintain records as required by your manager
- Attend meetings and training activities including fire and evacuation procedures, health and safety etc. as required
- In addition to the duties listed, perform other duties assigned by the Business Manager within your capabilities

Hours30 hours a week, Monday - Friday with on-call hours over the weekend
