We are searching for a highly organised and detail-oriented Utilities Manager to join our Utilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing utility accounts, ensuring accurate billing, tracking energy usage, and optimising costs. You will collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth utility operations, negotiate agreements, and support sustainability initiatives. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and communicate effectively are essential for success in this role.

What

you'll do:
  • Managing key services contracts including electricity, gas and water utilities.
  • Inspecting site usage, conducting random site visit checks, and working with the finance team by managing invoices and tracking payments.
  • Attending project meetings, ensuring actions are cleared in accordance with agreed timescales.
  • Approval of utility costs in line with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and manage the budgeting and actualisation processes for utility contracts.
  • Keep track of contracts, collect and share data with relevant stakeholders.
  • Working in line with utilities contract regulations.
  • Assist in preparing, managing contracts, agreements, legal documentation and ensuring smooth processes for the team.
What we are looking for:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering and management.
  • Ability to lead, support, and inspire a team.
  • Strong skills in prioritising, negotiating, motivating, and communicating to meet objectives and work with contractors.
  • Willing to travel to sites based across the UK.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong management skills in overseeing utility contracts, with the ability to effectively report to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
