CNC Machinist; Weekend Shift

Position: CNC Machinist (Weekend Shift) (Permanent)
WEC Group Ltd, established for over 45 years and now one of the UKs leading & multi award winning engineering, fabrication and machining companies, requires experienced CNC Programmers for our newly built facility at the Blackburn site.

We are in search of a talented CNC Programmer to strengthen our dedicated team. Candidates with experience in any of the following control systems – Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, Haas, or Seimens – are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities

* Working within a predominantly medium to high batch machining cell

* Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production.

* Expertly program, set-up, and operate CNC machines using one or more of the specified control systems.

* Choose and prepare the right tools and materials for each machining job.

* Vigilantly monitor the CNC machines to guarantee consistent quality in production runs.

* Conduct regular maintenance routines on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

* Collaborate closely with our engineering and production teams, aiming for continuous process improvement.

* Adhere to the highest safety standards and protocols.

* Diagnose and resolve any challenges encountered during the production process.

* Stay updated on advancements in machining techniques and control systems to uphold our industry-leading standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

* Ability to program one of the following – Haas, Heidenhain, Mazak, Fanuc or Siemens

* 5+ Years experience working within CNC Programming

* Highest standards of H&S and Quality is essential

* Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and deliver conforming parts

* Working with various materials including exotic grade alloys

* A detailed understanding of engineering drawing, tooling selection, work holding & cutting strategy is essential

* A good communicator at all levels, with the ability to integrate and support a successful team
