Job Overview

Many of our team members do this role alongside another job, to gain experience working with young people or to complement family life.

If this is you, consider joining the Newground Together Youth Team (NYT) as a Sessional Youth Worker in Blackburn.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of a range of youth activities and programmes.
  • Engage with young people in a positive, supportive, and engaging manner.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and support to young people.
  • Help develop and maintain positive relationships with young people and their families.
  • Support the youth team in organising and supervising outings, trips, and events.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of youth programmes to ensure effectiveness and impact.
Qualifications
  • Passion for working with young people and making a positive impact in their lives.
  • Engaging, approachable, and able to build rapport with young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, understanding, and able to provide guidance and support.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and understand issues that impact young people’s lives.

  • Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour from 1 April 2026.
