Ward B2 is a 24 bedded Acute Frailty ward within the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care Group.

You will work closely with the Multidisciplinary Teams ensuring the highest standards of safe, personal and effective care is being delivered. A flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment are essential.

You will demonstrate strong leadership qualities and have a passion for improving the patient and relative experience in addition to having a sound clinical knowledge base. In addition to this, you will possess well developed communication skills that will be used to engage, inspire and motivate both staff and patients in the clinical area. Good time management skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise your workload.

You will be responsible for the leadership and development of the ward nursing team.

You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for this vulnerable and frail group of patient. You will need to set the standards of care and the management of the ward including the deployment and supervision of staff and where the teaching of student and/or extensive nursing intervention is required.

To support the co-ordination of medical emergency admissions to the Trust. To effectively communicate with all the Wards and Departments, Emergency Department and General Practitioners to ensure timely and appropriate admissions and smooth, safe transfers and discharges. Participate in the Band 7 out of hours shift system to provide adequate nurse management cover on the hospital site.

planning to achieve a positive patient experience.

Support the provision of a clean environment

• Registered healthcare professional with current registration (NMC )
• Education to degree level, ideally in health related subject and speciality
• Non-Medical prescriber &/or willing to under take training
• Leadership qualification or willing to undertake
• management & leadership experience post registration
• Evidence of involvement in leading change and developing programmes of care.
• work experience in a relevant professional environment
• Experience of Safety and Quality initiatives, Incident and Risk management.
• Proficiency with office systems and computers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and power-bi
• Able to provide good quality and accurate reports
• Evidence of professional knowledge supplemented by post reg. specialist managerial / leadership training and CPD
