Position: Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer (North West)

Overview

We're looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll be representing our brands in our customers’ homes, so you need to be just as happy talking to the customer and getting to know them as you are about doing the installation.

Responsibilities

• Fitting smart meters and showing customers how their meter and in‑home display work.
• Explaining how to use the system to save energy and answering any questions about the green energy revolution.
• Providing top‑class service and working as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.
• Working with the office team to optimise processes and minimise admin time.

What You'll Need (Qualifications)

• MOCoPA certification, held within the last three years and evidence available.
• Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence with no more than six points.

Call‑out and Overtime

• Rotating call‑out schedule once every five weeks (Monday to Sunday) with a £250 retainer. If called out, you’ll be paid from door to door.

Saturday Working

• £50 for attending
• £70 for a dual fuel installation
• £35 for a single fuel installation
• Technical aborts are paid at half rate.

• On the day you’ll be welcomed by our team, checked for qualifications and asked to complete a practical trade test, followed by a short interview with an Area Manager.

Salary and OTE

You’ll start on a £36,500 base, with the potential to earn up to £50,000 OTE — including bonus and on‑call.
