Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Radiologic Technologist/Mammography Technologist to join our team! The Rad Tech/Mammo Tech is responsible for the daily organization of activities in the department. The purpose of this job is to perform radiographic procedures on a variety of radiographic equipment, assist Radiologists, maintain filing records and paperwork, communicate effectively, maintain a good work environment, and work with our new mobile mammography bus at various locations ranging from Rexburg to Pocatello.

The purpose of this job is to perform radiographic procedures on a variety of radiographic equipment. Assists Radiologists and maintains filing records and paperwork. Communicates effectively and maintains a good work environment. Will work with our new mobile mammo bus at various locations ranging from Rexburg to Pocatello.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Interviews the patient prior to testing and analyzes the patient’s general body size, physical condition, age and medical history to accurately apply radiographic procedures; improvises positions and techniques accordingly.
- Sets, adjusts and controls a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. Operates portable machines on patient floors and units; and in the operating room.
- Assesses technical quality of radiographs before giving such to the Radiologist; performs repeats as necessary.
- Provides protection to patients and fellow employees in accordance with national, state and departmental safety standards.
- Performs other activities such as taking call, keeping rooms stocked with supplies, preparing equipment for use, assisting other techs with patient exams, accessing images, performing receptionist duties after hours, reading reports to physicians over the phone, advising patients regarding availability of results.
- Documents appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.
- Assists the Radiologist in the administration of contrast materials and medications.
- Answers questions and provides information to center customers, including nursing staff, physicians, and the general public on radiographic procedures, radiographic anatomy and radiation safety practices.
- Maintains flexibility as department grows with a willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director.
- Demonstrates age-specific competency for the following groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Acts professional in every situation: patient, co-worker or intradepartmental.

- Protects information that is sensitive, proprietary or confidential in nature. Adheres to Patient Rights Policy and patient confidentiality standards.

QualificationsEducation/Certification
:
Must hold or obtain current licensure as a RT(R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent. ARRT Mammography Certification. Must hold or obtain current BLS.
