- Safe and Efficient Operation:
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including but not limited to, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and lugger trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. - Loading and Unloading:
Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation. - Route Planning:
Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time. - Vehicle Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Documentation:
Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials. - Customer Interaction:
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries. - Environmental Responsibility:
Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. - Communication:
Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
- Valid CDL (Class
A) with a clean driving record. - 2-5 years of commercial driving experience.
- Experience pulling doubles a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Ability to strap own load
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Five days a week, day shift, Monday through Friday. Weekends off for a work-life balance.
