The Impact You'll Make

As a Cover Supervisor, you are the backbone of the school day when a regular teacher is away. You'll supervise classes across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (ages 11-18), ensuring that learning never stops.

  • Lead the Room: Manage student behaviour effectively using the school's policy to maintain a focused atmosphere.

  • Support Learning: Help students engage with pre-set work and answer general queries.

  • Keep it Organized: Register attendance and provide detailed feedback for returning teachers.

  • Be a Role Model: Act as a positive influence, upholding the school's values and high expectations.

Note: There is no lesson planning or marking required for this role!

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • A Confident Presence: You must be comfortable leading a room of teenagers and managing challenging behaviour.

  • Great Communication: The ability to build rapport quickly is key to success in secondary schools.

  • Reliability: A flexible approach and high attendance are vital for school continuity.

  • Relevant Background: Experience with young people (coaching, youth work, or school-based) is highly preferred.

  • Safety First: You must have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
