Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 12:30 (20 hours per week, term‑time only)

Salary/Rate: £14.89 - £16.89 per hour (Depend on experience)
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) or Support Worker looking for a rewarding part‑time morning role in Blackpool? We are recruiting a dedicated Part‑Time Teaching Assistant to provide vital 1:1 support for a pupil within an Alternative Provision (AP) setting. Starting on 1st June 2026, this role is perfect for a resilient, empathetic professional who excels at engaging young people who face barriers to mainstream education.
If you have a background in SEN (Special Educational Needs), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), or youth work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference.
Key Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a pupil within an alternative educational environment.
- Implement personalised learning plans, adapting tasks to suit the pupil's specific emotional and academic needs.
- Utilise positive behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies to maintain a safe, focused learning space.
- Foster confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external support teams to monitor and review progress.
- Experience:
Proven track record working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges (e.g., in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or specialist setting). - Qualifications:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable. Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de‑escalation techniques is a major advantage. - Skills:
Exceptional patience, strong communication skills, and a non‑judgemental, empathetic approach. - Reliability:
Consistency is crucial for this pupil; we need someone committed to the daily 08:30 - 12:30 routine.
